Ask the difficult questions when hiring a photographer, we will try and
answer some of the most important ones here. Hiring your wedding
photographer is one of the most important investments you will make for
your entire wedding budget (of course we are biased, but we think it's
true). You know the famous saying... You get what you pay for.

1) Who will be my photographer?
We like to personalize our services and guarantee your investment.
Only one photographer here... the owner, Raymond H. Elgin. Be
careful with studios that have a "staff" of photographers, many are
part-time help with other jobs during the week. We recommend
making your consultation appointment personally with the person
that will be with you on this most important of days. You are not only
hiring an artist, but also a personality. Make sure you get along with
your photographer!

2) What if Raymond cannot make it because of illness or injury?

We have many connections in this industry. There is unlimited support
that we can rely on if necessary, though it hasn't been required since
Ray started in 1986. In fact he has never even been late to any wedding
that he's been hired to photograph, punctuality is one of his trademarks.

3) Raymond, what is your philosophy as a wedding photographer?

"Well, I have two goals as a wedding photographer. Of course my
first goal is to create and capture the most exquisite images and
memories that I possibly can for my clients. My second goal is to
have my clients not have to worry about anything on the day of their
wedding. Wedding days can be so very enjoyable... my wedding
day was the best day of my life, and I wish that for all of my clients.
Weddings are my favorite thing to photograph! What could be better?"

4) What kind of equipment do you use?

For most Traditional coverage's we use medium format professional
equipment (Hasselblad). We also carry additional backup equipment
just in case of emergencies. Our Photojournalistic coverage's are shot
with Canon 35mm equipment. We carry a full compliment of lens and
lighting to round out our arsenal so that we may create the most exciting
images possible.

5) What brand of photographic papers and film do you use?

We use Kodak professional films and papers almost exclusively.
We are part of a wonderful program with Kodak called Promise of
Excellence
. In essence, Kodak guarantees the longevity of all your
color photographs for your lifetime. If you ever see a fading or color
shift in your prints, they will be replaced at no charge to you!
For our Digital Creations, we have an in-house Digital Fuji Printer
so that we can create and manipulate any image with quick turnaround
and total control.

6) How many photographs will you take?

We do not limit the number of photographs taken for any coverage.
For an average 6 to 8 hour coverage a range of 200 to 350 images can
be created. An unlimited coverage will give you a more thorough
wedding album with unsurpassed creativity and quality with less
chance of us missing something or someone important.

7) What brand of photo albums do you use?

Art Leather is our choice, for elegance, flexibility and quality. Each
album cover has a lifetime guarantee with a choice of 14 different
colors, optional borders, windows and engraving.

We also carry our First Edition line of "digital" wedding albums.
Very exciting... we bet that you have never seen anything like it!
Handmade materials and book-bound old fashion style. Come in
and ask to see an example.

8) What will it cost for wedding photography?

Briefly... complete packages start at $1795 and numerous items are
included so that we can be flexible and creative in fulfilling your needs.
On average, most clients will invest between $2000 and $3500 with our
packages.

Every studio will have there own system for offering wedding
photography, there is no standard in our industry. It is not like walking
into a grocery store and comparing apples to apples. An in-studio
consultation is highly recommended so that we can discuss all of the
options and you may understand what is unique about our studio and
photographer, therefore, we do not have an on-line or mailing brochure.
It will take about an hour for a proper consultation and you will walk
away more educated about our industry so that you may make a more
confident decision, even if you choose not to hire us.

Please call us for your personal consultation at (626)446-6000.

Thank you for your time.

Best of luck with your wedding plans!
